Entering supervised contact for the first time can feel unfamiliar for both parents and children. At NSW Family Contact Services, our role is to ensure every visit is safe, structured and centred around the wellbeing of your child. Your first visit will begin with a brief introduction, where we explain the guidelines and answer any questions you may have. We then support a calm transition into the visit space so your child feels comfortable and settled.
During the visit, we observe interactions, offer gentle guidance if needed, and ensure communication remains respectful and child-focused. Parents are encouraged to follow their child’s lead, engage in simple play, and keep conversations positive. At the end of the session, we manage the departure to make sure everyone leaves safely and without stress. Our goal is to make supervised contact a predictable and supportive experience, helping families maintain meaningful connections in a safe environment.
